Trains will be replaced with buses between Lappeenranta–Joensuu and between Parikkala–Savonlinna from approx. 7 p.m. on Midsummer Eve, Friday 19 June, until 11 a.m. on Sunday 21 June.

Impacts of the Tampere railway station area project on train traffic
The renovation of Tampere’s railway station area will cause changes to train traffic during weekends in spring 2025. Day trains will be replaced by buses between Tampere and Seinäjoki, Tampere and Pori and Tampere and Parkano. The track work will also cause changes and cancellations in night train traffic.

We are standardizing service fees for ticket sales starting from March 3rd
From March 3rd, we will implement a more uniform service fee for ticket sales. The changes will affect our ticket vending machines, commuter tickets sold at R-kioskis, and our phone service. We will also reinstate service fees for ticket sales points. The service fees for ticket sales points were temporarily removed due to a system update in 2023. No service fee will be added to tickets purchased from vr.fi or the VR Matkalla app.
