The next scheduled departure of the direct night train from Turku to Rovaniemi is in December 2020.
This is due to track work between Tampere and Seinäjoki. However, passengers can take a day train to Tampere or Helsinki and board a night train to Rovaniemi there. If you want to travel north with your car, you must drive to Helsinki or Tampere and load your car on a car-carrier wagon.

The renovation of Tampere’s railway station area will cause changes to train traffic during weekends in spring 2025. From March 3rd, we will implement a more uniform service fee for ticket sales. The changes will affect our ticket vending machines, commuter tickets sold at R-kioskis, and our phone service. We will also reinstate service fees for ticket sales points. The service fees for ticket sales points were temporarily removed due to a system update in 2023. No service fee will be added to tickets purchased from vr.fi or the VR Matkalla app.
