Track work, carried out by the FTIA causes exceptions to the Midsummer train traffic

During Midsummer, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency will carry out railroad work in several localities. The traffic interruptions caused by the work have been scheduled so that they will cause a minimum amount of harm to the passengers. Helsinki–Turku

Tunneling and bridge work will be carried out between Espoo and Kirkkonummi on the Helsinki–Turku line. The traffic interruption will begin at 1.00 on 25 June and end at 7.00 on 26 June.

The long-distance trains between Helsinki and Kirkkonummi will be replaced by buses operating on an exceptional schedule on Saturday 25 June. Between Kirkkonummi and Turku, the trains will operate at longer intervals. During the traffic interruption, the commuter trains E, U and L will only run between Helsinki and Espoo. HSL will arrange replacement bus services between Espoo and Kirkkonummi.

Helsinki–Tampere and Turku–Tampere

There will be a traffic interruption between Toijala and Tampere due to bridge work from Friday 24 June at 15.00 until Sunday 26 June at 15.00.

On the railway section between Toijala and Tampere, all trains will be replaced by buses running on an exceptional schedule. Between Helsinki and Toijala, the long-distance trains will operate at longer intervals, while the commuter trains will operate normally.

Between Turku and Tampere, the trains will be replaced by buses operating on an exceptional schedule. On Friday 24 June and Saturday 25 June, all night trains to Lapland will be cancelled for the entire route.

Tampere–Jämsä–Jyväskylä

There will be a traffic interruption between Jämsä and Jyväskylä from Friday 24 June at 3.30 until Sunday 26 June at 15.30. Tunneling and rock cutting work will be carried out on the railway section.

Between Tampere and Jyväskylä, the trains will be replaced by buses operating on an exceptional schedule.

Tampere–Keuruu–Jyväskylä

There will be a traffic interruption in Orivesi due to shunting work from Friday 24 June at 3.30 until Saturday 25 June at 3.30.

On Friday 24 June, the trains will be replaced by buses operating on an exceptional schedule along the entire route. On the Seinäjoki-Keuruu-Jyväskylä route, the trains will operate normally.

Kouvola–Imatra–Joensuu and Parikkala–Savonlinna

There will be a traffic interruption between Luumäki and Imatra due to a track improvement project from Friday 24 June at 16.00 until Sunday 26 June at 16.00.

Between Kouvola–Imatra–Joensuu, the trains will be replaced by buses operating on an exceptional schedule. There will be changes to the train schedules between Parikkala and Savonlinna to ensure Parikkala's connections.

Kouvola–Port of Kotka

The work on the Kouvola–Kotka/Hamina project will cause an interruption from Thursday 23 June at 6.00 until Monday 27 June at 6.00.

All O-trains between Kouvola and the port of Kotka will be replaced by buses operating on an exceptional schedule. The O-trains between Kouvola and Lahti will operate normally.
