All train traffic will return to Turku railway station on 15 December

The railway interruption between Turku and Kupittaa will end in December 2024. From Sunday 15 December, long-distance trains between Helsinki and Turku will stop at the new Logomo station. The train services to and from the Port of Turku will return to normal.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s railway project, which began in 2022 and covers the development of Turku passenger and freight shunting yards and the construction of a double track between Kupittaa and Turku railway station, will be completed in December 2024. The railway project has interrupted train traffic between Kupittaa and Turku, which is why Kupittaa has been the departure and destination station of trains heading for Helsinki.

Train traffic will return to Turku railway station fully on 15 December, at which point trains on the Helsinki-Turku-Helsinki route will also be operated from Turku. Single tickets with a departure or destination station in Turku are already available both on VR.fi and in our VR Matkalla app.

Turku railway station has moved to Logomo

The address of the new station is Logomon Silta 1, and you will be able to walk from the old station building to the new one in about 10–15 minutes. Station services are also nowadays available in Logomo’s premises.

Trains between Turku and Tampere started using the new station on 5 August 2024. As of 15 December, all trains will depart from the new railway platforms that are connected to the Logomo bridge. We recommend checking the departure track on the displays at the station.
