The On track page summarizes the latest developments in train traffic

Our traffic bulletins on vr.fi have been renewed. The 'Train traffic now' page has been replaced with a new traffic bulletin service where we inform our customers about train traffic in real time.

You can find the new 'On track' service in the top right-hand corner menu of vr.fi under the name 'Traffic news'. The site has a real-time Live Train Tracker Map, a section with information about the track work of the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency as well as bulletins regarding traffic disruptions.

The communicating of disruptions is important to us and we would like to hear your feedback on our upgraded traffic website. It is easy to leave feedback on the website.

We are standardizing service fees for ticket sales starting from March 3rd

From March 3rd, we will implement a more uniform service fee for ticket sales. The changes will affect our ticket vending machines, commuter tickets sold at R-kioskis, and our phone service. We will also reinstate service fees for ticket sales points. The service fees for ticket sales points were temporarily removed due to a system update in 2023. No service fee will be added to tickets purchased from vr.fi or the VR Matkalla app.

We are piloting the use of body cameras in VR’s commuter traffic

Based on customer surveys, the feeling of safety in VR’s commuter train traffic is at a very good level and train travel is perceived as safe. According to the latest customer satisfaction survey carried out at the beginning of the year, for example, the feeling of safety on our commuter trains received a grade of 4.5 on a scale of 1–5. In order to prevent and resolve individual disruptions in VR’s commuter train traffic, conductors’ use of body cameras will be piloted during the spring.
