The new VR-wifi
By the end of summer 2024, we will have upgraded our wifi transmitters on all long-distance trains. The new VR wifi will be up to five times faster and a lot more consistent than the previous network.

In the map above, you can see how well the connection works on average on different routes. Wifi speed is also affected by how full the train is.
Areas with no coverage
Long-distance trains also pass through areas where there are no operator base stations to maintain the signal for the equipment. In these areas, the network cannot operate efficiently. To improve connectivity, operators need to invest in the network and in new base stations.
