In Kuopio, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency is renovating the railway yard and carrying out tunnel work, which will result in a traffic interruption from 1 August to 9 August. The work in Kuopio will also cause a 30-hour weekend traffic interruption on 22–23 June and a 40-hour traffic interruption on 12–14 July. The track work will lead to trains being replaced by buses on the route from Siilinjärvi to Pieksämäki/Jyväskylä.

The same railway project will also cause a traffic interruption between Turku and the Port of Turku from 28 July to 4 August. During this time, all trains from Tampere to the Port of Turku will be replaced by buses between Turku and the Port of Turku.
