On Thursday, 16 January, at 10:00, the remaining summer 2025 long-distance train trips for the period 16 June–10 August 2025 will go on sale. The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s track works will impact train traffic in summer 2025. The most significant disruptions will result from the Espoo Rail Line project and the Tampere Passenger Rail Yard project. Due to the Espoo Rail Line project, some long-distance trains between Helsinki and Turku will be replaced with track work buses between Helsinki and Kirkkonummi in May. During the summer, from 23 June to 27 July, there will be a complete suspension of long-distance train traffic between Helsinki and Karjaa. During this period, track work buses will operate between Helsinki and Turku, and long-distance trains will run between Karjaa and Turku. Detailed information on the temporary arrangements for the Espoo City Rail Line project will be published on Thursday, 16 January. Until then, you can learn more about the project’s impacts by reading our track works update., Opens in a new tab
Tampere railway station area project
The Tampere railway station area project will cause changes to train traffic in April and May. Daytime long-distance trains between Tampere and Parkano, as well as Tampere and Seinäjoki, will be replaced with buses. Due to the rail yard project, some May night train services will also be cancelled. In addition to cancellations, some familiar night train services will operate with adjusted schedules. Tampere’s car loading station will remain closed from 16 June onwards, and cars can only be loaded onto trains in Pasila or Turku during this period.
